Hermitage Amsterdam is housed in a complex of historic buildings on the Amstel river, presenting exhibitions drawn from the collections of the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. On Museum Night, the museum presents a special programme exploring Russian cultural life through music, art, and literature. A chamber ensemble performs works by Russian composers in the museum's grand hall, while guided tours explore the current exhibition. A special late-night programme for adults focuses on the history of the Romanov dynasty, with objects from the Hermitage's extraordinary collection of imperial jewellery, costumes, and personal effects.
