Amsterdam's spectacular film museum on the north bank of the IJ presents a night of rare screenings, film history, and the magic of cinema.
The EYE Film Museum, housed in a striking angular white building on the north bank of the IJ, is one of Amsterdam's most architecturally dramatic institutions. On Museum Night, EYE presents a curated programme of rare and restored films from its vast archive, screened in the museum's four cinemas. The permanent exhibition 'Panorama' — an immersive walk-through experience exploring the history of cinema — is open all night, with film historians leading tours. A special late-night screening of a classic Dutch film is accompanied by a live musical score performed by a local jazz ensemble. The museum's terrace, with its views of the Amsterdam skyline, is open until 2am.
