One of the world's great ethnographic museums presents a night of music, dance, food, and stories from cultures across the globe.
The Tropenmuseum (Tropical Museum) is one of the world's great ethnographic museums, housed in a spectacular neo-Renaissance building in Amsterdam East. Its vast collection spans cultures from across Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania. On Museum Night, the museum's grand central hall becomes a stage for live music and dance performances from around the world, with artists from the museum's network of cultural partners. The museum's restaurants serve dishes from the regions represented in the collection, and guided tours explore the complex history of the Dutch colonial empire and its legacy in the Netherlands today.
